we? you want it, you would have to do all the work and maintain it until you find someone else to take over maintainership

We can't use avi-fourcc. It doesn't have fourcc for audio. And the audio-tags are not even complete (remember adding support for custom audio-tags, coz some new formats don't have official one???).
