Quick question- when encoding to divx, is the dolby surround info preserved? are there any options i can use to preserve it if it isn't? please point me in the right direction for what i need to know. thanks

With mencoder, I use mencoder -oac copy to keep the AC3 digital surround when encoding from DVDs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but because Dolby ProLogic (Surround) audio is matrixed in with the left and right channels, it'll keep the surround information even after you re-encode the left and right channels with lame (in mencoder)? -- http://geoffthrax.dhs.org/~geoff/pub_key Get PGP and use it.
