Problem with xvidix and ATI Rage Mobility M3
The xvidix driver doesn't work with my M3 card. When I try to play a file, it doesn't display anything and use 100% of the CPU. mplayer -v 1 -fs -vo xvidix albator84_13.avi >& bidou.log MPlayer CVS-020315-06:00-2.95.3 (C) 2000-2002 Arpad Gereoffy (see DOCS!) (When the video hadn't 4/3 format, not affected part of display was left untouched except a back rectangle at the left corner of the screen). I have tried to impose rage128_vid.so with 09/03/2002 version and it badly frozen my computer (reboot with SyRq s u b, then extinction of the computer because display stay blank after reboot). I haven't tried with the latest version, and I would prefer don't try. NB2: With -vo xv the video works perfectly ***************************************************************** * All requested data * ***************************************************************** * linux distribution Mandrake "8.2" (8.1 updated with all packages of the future 8.2) * kernel version: Linux bidoubidou 2.4.18-rc4 #1 ven fév 22 16:57:45 CET 2002 i686 unknown * libc version: -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1275300 mar 7 23:45 /lib/libc-2.2.4.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 mar 12 09:33 /lib/libc.so.6 -> libc-2.2.4.so * X version: XFree86 Version 4.2.0 / X Window System (protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6600) Release Date: 23 January 2002 If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your card is newer than the above date, look for a newer version before reporting problems.
