I'm using "mencoder -oac copy -ovc copy" to fix a DivX movie that doesn't have the index. The resulting file has the problem that seeking does not work: seeking backwards gets to the very beginning, and seeking forwards gets to the end (which of course quits mplayer). "mplayer -idx" on the original file works OK, but I would rather have a permanently corrected index. The version of mplayer/mencoder is of course the latest CVS.
