I have been using mpeg4ip to view streaming .mp4 files from Apple's Darwin server. Now I want to use mplayer. As a first check, I tried playing the same .mp4 files locally with mplayer. It comes back saying the format is unrecognized. I am just beginning to learn of all the flavors of mpeg-4, so I'm not sure if mplayer should be able to do this. Should it? Any suggestions?
