[Patch] for debian/rules to include gmplayer/mencoder
Hi. I just hacked debian/rules a little to include the gui mplayer and the new mencoder. I also enabled streaming support. Also in the patch is an update for the menu-file (is there any cute icon around to include?). There is just one issue: postinst should call update-menus, but since postinst is a perl-script, debhelper cannot be used to add its "magic" using #DEBHELPER#. I tried to figure something out, but since I am no Perl expert, I somehow got lost ... S!
mencoder. I also enabled streaming support. huh, I was going to add mencoder just today :)

There is just one issue: postinst should call update-menus, but since hmm.. try it, menus are updated automatically : grep -i mplayer /etc/X11/icewm/* /etc/X11/icewm/programs: prog "gmplayer" - /usr/bin/gmplayer /etc/X11/icewm/programs: prog "mplayer" - x-terminal-emulator -T "mplayer" -e /usr/bin/mplayer
hmm, maybe it's time to remove that text version. -- Dariusz Pietrzak snafu

Sure? I had to run update-menus manually. (Debian/Sid, updated daily). Maybe, you had no problems because another package invoked it.

Since mplayer won't work without specifying a file on its commandline, it is useless in a windowmanager menu, so better remove it. S!
Sure? I had to run update-menus manually. (Debian/Sid, updated daily). sure. just when I installed new mplayer, gmplayer appeared on the menu.
Maybe, you had no problems because another package invoked it. haven't installed any other. I'll check again and apply update-menus if neccessery.

Interesting. Seems I need to dig out good ol' VMware and recheck this against a fresh and clean install. S!
