AW: [MPlayer-users] Problems with compiling MPlayer
With new binutils the previous error-message disappeared (Thanks for help...). But, I called ./configure --disable-dvdread --disable-mpdvdkit (because this old linux system has problems with dvd-support - I had the same problem with compiling xine ...) --enable-qtx-codecs make - and I received following error-message: gcc -O4 -march=i586 -mcpu=i586 -pipe -ffast-math -fomit-frame-pointer -D_REENTRANT -Ilibmpdemux -Iloader -Ilibvo -o mplayer mplayer.o mp_msg.o cpudetect.o codec-cfg.o cfgparser.o my_profile.o spudec.o playtree.o playtreeparser.o asxparser.o vobsub.o subreader.o sub_cc.o find_sub.o m_config.o m_option.o parser-cfg.o m_struct.o unrarlib.o mixer.o parser-mpcmd.o libvo/libvo.a libao2/libao2.a vidix/libvidix.a libmpcodecs/libmpcodecs.a mp3lib/libMP3.a liba52/liba52.a libmpeg2/libmpeg2.a loader/libloader.a loader/dshow/libDS_Filter.a loader/dmo/libDMO_Filter.a libaf/libaf.a libmpdemux/libmpdemux.a input/libinput.a postproc/libpostproc.a postproc/libswscale.a linux/libosdep.a libavcodec/libavcodec.a -lz -ljpeg -lnsl -lgif -lXdpms -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lXext -lX11 -lnsl -laa -lGL -lXxf86dga -lXxf86vm -lXdpms -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lXext -lX11 -lnsl -lnsl -lvgagl -lvga -lm -lpthread -ldl -lm libmpdemux/libmpdemux.a(demux_gif.o): In function `demux_open_gif': demux_gif.o(.text+0x430): undefined reference to `DGifOpen' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status Should I disable gif-support or... [Automatic answer: RTFM (read DOCS, FAQ), also read DOCS/bugreports.html] For our Software-Project we use a SUSE-Linux 6.0 (Demo-Version) and SUSE-Linux 6.1.
6.0 and 6.1? That's ancient. There is no other possibility, because our project run only under SUSE-Linux 6.0, 6.1
I should implement a movie player, to show some info-videos. When I tried to compile MPlayer 0.90 I received an error-message: [...] {standard input}: Assembler messages: {standard input}:4894: Error: no such 386 instruction: `pswapd' {standard input}:4914: Error: no such 386 instruction: `pswapd'
