mplayer blips at start of song

      Hi,
On playing multiple files in mplayer, mplayer emits a blip at the
start of almost every song. I have an Intelx810 soundcard and am
running Mplayer-1.0pre7. I'm using Alsa sound drivers.
Is there any way I can stop the blip? It's irritating me a lot :-(
