Never occurs the same place. But I think I only get it using -ao pcm, at least I cannot remember listening to a stream and mplayer dying. Also I have never, to my knowledge, gotten a signal 11 from anywhere else. This is on a Debian Sarge system. I only use mplayer for listening to classical music streams.
Seems like "classical" ;-) case of overheated cpu. Do your ever compile big stuff like a linux kernel or the mplayer source? Chances are it will happen then too. A motherboard with temperature sensors is your friend here ;-) _______________________________________________ RTFM!!! http://www.MPlayerHQ.hu/DOCS Search: http://www.MPlayerHQ.hu/cgi-bin/htsearch http://mplayerhq.hu/mailman/listinfo/mplayer-users ---- End Original Message ---- I compile big stuff all the time: mozilla from the cvs tree compiles for 3 hours. Never noticed signal 11's. And BTW it happens without -ao pcm too... Thanks. Hugo. The following signature is added by my web email provider over which I have no control: Help the planet each day! You may want to try running mplayer inside gdb? If it segfaults, type "where", post it and then the guys around here might have a clue...
