MEncoder to stitch together videos NO-SPAM

      Now, assuming I had a set of videos that all had identical settings  
(codecs, bitrates, etc.), could I use mencoder to assemble them in a  
single file in a command line like follows?

mencoder (file 1).avi (file 2).avi (file... etc.).avi -o (final  
file).avi -ovc copy -oac copy

Even moderation ought not to be practiced to excess.
