I have been trying to see movies with .srt subtiles in utf-8 but gmaplyer it simply doest displays correct the characters that have accents like ã, ã, ẽ, é, etc, instead it just shows a ? but upside down. The only way so far to see subtitles correctly is to converting them from utf-8 into iso-8859-15. I have tried to activate the Unicode settings from gmplayer subtitle tab settings but simply theres no way to put utf-8 characters that have accents correctly displayed. Im using mplayer svn release 24992 -- Zé Linux user #378762
