Hi,
I have an old Zoltrix TV-Max tv capture pci card. I can't find a model number, and it's too old to get any technical specs from Zoltrix. It has a BT848AKPF chip on the card. It shows up in lspci as:
00:0a.0 Multimedia video controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt848 Video Capture (rev 12)
The card has s-video, composite a/v, and rf television inputs. I can view video from a camcorder through either the s-video or composite inputs (no sound, but that's a story for another day). But when I hook up my cable to the rf input, I don't get anything but static on every channel.
I'm running mplayer under Mandriva 2006 Linux, with a 2.6.12-22mdk kernel, and driving the card with the bttv module, on an Athlon XP system. I compiled mplayer today from svn, revision 20653.
I get the same results with kdetv as with mplayer, so the problem is probably not with mplayer (my apologies if I shouldn't be bringing it to this list).
Any suggestions? Is there possibly some configuration option I need on the bttv module or elsewhere? Or am I out of luck with this card?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
you have to load bt8x8 with the appropriate card= option, based on the tuner that your card uses (the shielded component with the RF input)
