[Automatic answer: RTFM (read DOCS, FAQ), also read DOCS/bugreports.html] I want to make a (s)vcd in linux and i don't have a clue on how to do it.
I found a webpage that explained that using mjpeg tools you had to extract the audio and video, then multiplex it , use vcdencoder and then burn it with cdrdao.
The problem is that lav2wav and lav2yuv (in mjpeg tools) say that the input movie is not in JPEG 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 format.
The movie is a plain popular DivX :-) so i tried using mencoder and lavc with the mjpeg like this:
mencoder movie.avi -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mjpeg -oac copy -o test.avi
Apparently, the vcd format uses mpeg1 for video (which mencoder supports) and mpeg 1 layer 2 for audio (which mencoder does not support)
Is there something i can do? Sorry for the small off-topic. Maybe i can fix the "not a jpeg 4:2:2" issue with mencoder?

You have a script "mencvcd" in the TOOLS directory that makes VCD and SVCD, is not very fast coding mpeg but it works. -- Sergio del Rio delrio@arrakis.es
