I have been using mpeg4ip to view streaming .mp4 files from Apple's Darwin server. Now I want to use mplayer. As a first check, I tried playing the same .mp4 files locally with mplayer. It comes back saying the format is unrecognized. I am just beginning to learn of all the flavors of mpeg-4, so I'm not sure if mplayer should be able to do this. Should it? Any suggestions? We are currently integrating MP4 support into mplayer, to test it you need cvs version of mplayer and libavcodec, also note that we just switched over to a new audio codec interface and the aac decoder still needs to be ported to the new interface (I guess will be done until tomorrow). Also aac audio support is still experimental and not completly working yet.
Thanks Buzz
