Hi,
Okay from what I've read on Xfree86.org site, the G450 & G550 use the same driver as the G400 in XFree86 4.2.0 Which in turn would mean that TV-out is supported for both the G450 & G550 under MPlayer correct?
the same driver is used for all S3 cards. does it mean that you can play quake3 with s3 trio pci ? no.
Understand
afaik only g400 tvout is supported under linux, g450/550 uses different tvout chip, and it is not yet supported. btw the built-in x11 driver doesn't support tvout afair, you need the mga_HAL stuff from matrox site.
I went to the Matrox site and read the readme for the Linux Beta Driver, and it has explained what you are saying here. It specifically said the G450/G550 do not have TV-out support.
I've also read the Doc's on the MPlayer site however they are a mess. I'm having trouble figuring out if when they mention Matrox cards they mean the whole series or a specific card.... it was clear for others
Everyone does not interpret things the same way.
