[Automatic answer: RTFM (read DOCS, FAQ), also read DOCS/bugreports.html] hi,
I'm trying to compile mplayer but the configure script cannot find the libmp3lame library.
I have installed lame and it placed the files in /usr/local/lib/. Here is a listing: libmp3lame.a libmp3lame.so@ libmp3lame.so.0.0.0* libmp3lame.la* libmp3lame.so.0@
Make sure /usr/local/lib is listed in /etc/ld.so.conf. For some reason certain broken distros leave it out. Also, rerun ldconfig (as root) after installing lame to make sure your shared library cache is up-to-date.
Also make sure you have the necessary header file (lame.h) in /usr/local/include/. -- MPlayer RPMs maintainer: http://www.piorunek.pl/~dominik/linux/pkgs/mplayer/ "The Universe doesn't give you any points for doing things that are easy." -- Sheridan to Garibaldi in Babylon 5:"The Geometry of Shadows"
