with xvid, in the log file quants are always reported as 2, because the first pass is encoded with quant=2. Not so with lavc
*doh* So it was my head. Again. ARGH! So there is no was of automating a search for the "optimal" resolution/bpp using XViD by simply repeating the 1st pass? HR
