[Automatic answer: RTFM (read DOCS, FAQ), also read DOCS/bugreports.html] I have a new cam - Sony DCR-TRV60E. Its manual says that transfer of the data from cam to computer goes through USB, and there is nothing about Firewire. There's also a kind of software included on CD to handle this. This soft is for Windows and for MacOS. I don't have any of them, so I didn't try how this works.
Could you recommend me any soft for Linux capable of transfering data from cam to PC using USB?
I recently got the TRV250 (which is digital8 and does have firewire) But I also looked into making the USB work. As far as I could determine, the protocol used by Sony on the USB port is proprietary and there aren't any linux drivers for it (at this time) Sorry. The only way to get video from the camera into the computer is probably to get a TV card and hook it up that way using the a/v out cable. - -- Mark Veinot - Linux Certified Professional - ---------------------------------------------------------------- /dev/random says: Definition of Terror: A female Klingon having a bad hair day. http://mvgrafx.dyn.ca/~vmark - ---------------------------------------------------------------- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFABJYebGPFPb5Q6OIRAqUNAJwIEN48hcTfpJyf/Kyi/pyxITpd9QCdGGvl lKcE2GnkPFGyn/4xZUZGRUY= =ABhg -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
