Concurrent use somehow doesn't seem to possible at all... Neither with Creative's OSS drivers - with them I even have to load a dsp patch and standard PCM is disabled also, then. I'm using alsactl or alsamixer, too. I'd be happy about some possibility to control such a mixer channel/switch in any other mixer app or applet...
