Can we specify an arbitrary maximum size (in megabytes) for a video and have mencoder either (A) reccomend the bitrate to use. (B) encode to that size. (one would, of course be using 2-pass mode)
is there anything stopping you just doing an extremely simple sum to get the bitrate?? filesize = length * (video_bitrate + audio_bitrate) hardly complicated. of course if you can't be arsed to even do that, try my program... http://acidrip.thirtythreeandathird.net . And eitherway, with 3-pass encoding mencoder DOES recommend a bitrate.
