Well, the Audigy might be overkill; if you just want digital sound, a SBLive 5.1 or the CMedia card (in soundcards.html) might be cheaper, and work just as well. For that matter, I'm not even sure if the Audigy driver guys have finished the digital out and passthrough. Aubin On Thursday, March 14, 2002, at 05:27 AM, Peter_JANEK@tatrabanka.sk wrote:

hi, sorry for a little bit offtopic, but hopefully here r some people able to answer ...
i've got receiver sony str-de475 and planning to buy sb audigy player (the cheapest version)
how can i get these appliances to work together ??? (there's some digital out jack on the card... but it seems crazy to get 5.1 channel out with one jack on the sound card ....)
my friend said that i have to buy 3 cables and use digital out, and both line out jacks at the sound card and multi channel in at receiver - am not sure about this and if it will work at dolby digital ...
and what about quality of such transfer...
thx
peter
