Well, libdvdcss-0.0.3 fixed the slow playback problem with the CVS. I no longer get the "slow system" message, and the playblack is flawless. What happens though is this (this probably was happening with libdvdcss-1.0.1 too): playing the dvd from chapter 18 doesn't have sound (with the error message below). I tried playing starting at different chapters and for some I do have sound, for others I don't. One chapter for which I have sound, is e.g. 20, so I can encode 1-19, then 20-36, and hopefully my problem will be solved. But why starting from certain chapter gives no sound? [Automatic answer: RTFM (read DOCS, FAQ), also read DOCS/bugreports.html] Maybe you only had 0.0.3 when you compiled MPlayer 0.60, then it would be linked against the older version.

I don't understand how it works with mplayer-0.6 though. Thanks for the tip.
