[Automatic answer: RTFM (read DOCS, FAQ), also read DOCS/bugreports.html] I have my two video cards (both Xv capable) set up in a Xinerama screen. The problem seems to be trying to play video with Mplayer (latest CVS) on the second video screen of my Xinerama screen.
Jup, Xinerama is still a problem, as there are only a few who really understand it (manly only the developers themself). There is still no good documentation available (or does anyone know such ?)
I think the problem is that Mplayer cannot figure out which Xvideo port to use. xvinfo only shows the Xv details on my first (the ATI) video card. The second is a Matrox G400.
Why dont you use (x)mga ? This will place it for sure on the G400 (maye you have to move the window onto the second screen)
I have tried the patch posted here by daniel carter for the "-xineramascreen n" option but it does not seem to work (anymore).
I read but dont think it can work like this, though didnt test it. As coincidence i wrote a patch myself an hour ago, that places the window always on the first screen (see mplayer-devel). It shouldnt be a lot of work to adjust it to place the window on an aribtary screen, but i dont know if it's possible to run Xv on the second screen... dont have the HW to check.
