Problem compiling mplayer from cvs

I usually compile mplayer from releases, but i tried cvs with: ./configure --enable-gui --enable-linux-devfs --disable-tv --with-csslibdir=/home/espectro/libdvdcss-0.0.1/lib/ --enable-live (I'm trying to play some vobs from the hard drive as the docs say) I copied the libavcodec from cvs too. In file included from dvbin.c:56: dvbin.h:9:29: ost/dmx.h: No such file or directory dvbin.h:10:29: ost/sec.h: No such file or directory dvbin.h:11:34: ost/frontend.h: No such file or directory In file included from dvbin.c:56: dvbin.h:41: parse error before "SpectralInversion" dvbin.h:41: warning: no semicolon at end of struct or union dvbin.h:42: warning: data definition has no type or storage class dvbin.c:135: request for member `NUM_CHANNELS' in something not a structure or union Lots of "undeclareds" too... I have compiled cvs versions before... Any suggestions?

video equalizer: reset value

How can I reset value in video equalizer (i.e. contrast/brightness/etc to middle position) in mplayer? I know this is possible with gmplayer, but I don't like it. It will be enough if all controls will be reseted at once. I tried "contrast 0" in input.conf (most intuitive), but it didn't worked. -- Vladimir

ok, i read the DOCS on how to import a codec... ASX Decoding and relative URLs

Hey guys, I've been using MPlayer-0.90rc4 with MozPlugger, tweaking things so all the missing MIME types would be recognized and give me all the streaming media joy as I might expect from MSIE... except on linux and mozilla. For the most part, I've been successful. However, I've noticed that when asx files are generated that use relative URLs in the source, mplayer gets confused and doesn't play 'em. Please consider adding it.

Advice on solving out of sync movie

Hello. I am having problems with mencoder producing movies with good synchronization between audio and video. I am running mencoder 0.90rc4-3.2 on a Red Hat Linux 8.0 box. I have also tried mencoder CVS-021210-03:00-3.2 with similar results. I need advice on how to proceed to solve this problem (even if that envolves using other tools besides mencoder). I have captured a movie from TV using mencoder (on Linux): $ mencoder -o movie0.avi \ -tv on:driver=v4l:device=/dev/video0:norm=palm:width=640:height=480:chanlist=us-cable:channel=9 \ -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:keyint=0:vbitrate=5000 \ -oac mp3lame -lameopts cbr:br=128 \ -vop pp=tn The resulting avi file is about 8 Gb in size. Then with VirtualDub (on Windows) I have deleted the comercials from the avi file, and saved to a new file: movie.avi Now I want to process this avi file to deinterlace the movie and reduce its size to fit in a 800 Gb CD. So I have processed it with mencode (3 passes processing): Pass 1: $ mencoder movie.avi -ovc frameno -oac copy -o frameno.avi Pass 2: $ mencoder movie.avi \ -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=875:vhq:vpass=1 \ -vop pp=lb \ -oac copy \ -o um-sonho-distante.avi Pass 3: $ mencoder movie.avi \ -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=875:vhq:vpass=2 \ -vop pp=lb \ -oac copy \ -o um-sonho-distante.avi The final avi file um-sonho-distante.avi is out of sync between audio and video, in all players I have tried (mplayer, xine, VirtualDub, aviplay, ...). Crash playing .ogm movie with MPlayer 0.90rc3-2.95.3

Hello, I am trying to play an .ogm movie with MPlayer 0.90rc3-2.95.3. MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: decode_audio I decided not to recompile with enable-debug and do a gdb backtrace yet since this looks to me to be a general issue, maybe something very general I'm missing. I read the archives of this mailinglist and found a mail from last year saying that a general ogm playback bug was fixed in a new CVS version and that the person in question should also make sure to download the new libavcodec. But since I got 0.90rc3 there should be a sufficiently up-to-date libavcodec in there, no? Will a simple upgrade to rc4 help? Daniel

can't enable gui

Hi, I have a problem with mplayer. I can't seem to enable the GUI anyhow. I got the latest version from the CVS, configured with --enable-gui. For this I get the line: Checking for GUI ... yes when running configure. Then make, make install. I put the default skin under /usr/local/share/mplayer/Skin with the name default. I start mplayer, and no GUI shows up. What am I doing wrong? Akos PS: also a problem, when running configure, and make right afterwards, I always get an error: make[2]: Entering directory `/usr/local/src/dvd/mplayer/cvs/main/loader/dmo' rm -f Makefile.bak *.o *.a *~ .depend test test.raw make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/dvd/mplayer/cvs/main/loader/dmo' make -C libavcodec distclean LIBPREF=lib LIBSUF=.a make: Entering an unknown directory make: *** libavcodec: No such file or directory. two questions and a feature request...

Hi/2 all... First of all i would like to thank all developers for the great work put into mplayer... it's one of my favorite players (my loyalty bounces forward and back between xine and mplayer ;)). That said i have three questions i couldn't work out by RTFM or the docs. 1 - i read all about subtitles, how to put them and such, but i couldn't work out a way to put the subtitles of a divx in the black borders, i can display them all along the movie boundaries, but not on the black borders. I would like to mimick the aviplay method. 2 - Also to do with subtitles:) with txt subtitles (like subviewer ou subrip or etc), the font scale can be chosen, type of font etc...BUT is there any way to scale (read amplify) the subtitle font when i'm watching a dvd? i know dvd subtitles are really bitmaps, but is there any clever way to do so, the problem is that i'm a poor student without money to buy a decent dvd/tv so i watch movies on my 17`` monitor, and dvd subtitles sometimes are too small to read from my bed, so either i buy binoculars or i scale the fonts ;) 3 - less but not least i would like to ask the developers to add a box in mplayer preferences that would enable the user to add costumized options not found in the normal preferences. That way i could add special vop filters options wihtout using the commmand line (useful sometimes) since they would be enabled via preferences. Thanks for your time and best regards... PS.
