I wanted to save a radio show (in WMA format), and it seemed to work with "mplayer -dumpaudio". The problem is now playing back the stream.dump, which mplayer doesn't recognize. Direct listening worked perfectly using "mplayer http://www.yle.fi/radioaino/aino.asx", it uses the ffwmav2 codec. The equivalent mencoder line doesn't work, which is why I chose "mplayer -dumpaudio" for saving the stream. Now I can't play or encode the dumped file, and for this I would appreciate any help. For the future, I would also like to know a better way of saving the audio. I've included the MPlayer/MEncoder outputs below. -- Mr Risto A. avi filesize > 4G

Dear all, I've record a AVI file in wav/lavc codec in my ext2 filesystem using mencoder, which is larger than 4G. When I do ls, it show it is about 5G filesize. But it seem mplayer can't play the part beyond the 4G part. Could I extract the 4G-5G part of the video? Thanks! Chris

ALSA (0.9.1) + mplayer (0.90rc4) + Audigy2 + channels & surround problem

Hallo all, finally I got my Audigy 2 soundcard and Genius SW HomeTheatre 5.1 repro. I've installed ALSA emu10k1 - the system sound worked. Then I tried to play a movie and noticed the sound isn't going from all speakers but only from rear and center+subwoofer ones. The front left/right is quiet. I know about mplayer options -channels 6 and/or -ao alsa9:surround51 but all these result into NOSOUND :( Is it possible to made mplayer to use 5.1 reprosystem even when the movie has only 2 channels? I think so, but I cannot managed it ... BTW - where can I get all options and suboptions of mplayer. 'cause i.e. alsa9:surround51 isn't described in neither man nor htdocs (or didn't I find it?) Hi, On my system, the playback of DVD (encrypthed or not encrypthed) isn't possible, mplayer crashed. MPEG1/2 files could be played from hardisk fine. DVD play with ffmpeg problem

Hi, Is there anyone having problem with FFMPEG when playing DVD in DGA mode? I noticed that it uses less CPU but when I set vo to dga it displays broken image. I'm running RH8.0 on nVIdia TNT2, PIII 733Mhz and 384MB RAM system. Thanks, jooil

[BUG] crash with incorrect config file

Hi! To watch the movie http://www.blinkenlights.de/download/blinkenlights-arcade-video-352x264.mp4 without artifacts I tried to put lavdopts bug=1024 in a movie specific config file. That is a syntax error, it has to be lavdopts= bug=1024 The problem is that MPlayer crashes on encountering a line like that in a config file. [BUG] visual artifacts after seeking and A/V desync in animatrix episode 1 mov

Hello everybody! I just downloaded and watched Animatrix episode 1 and 2. Both now work with latest CVS, but episode 1 has slight problems. After seeking there are very noticeable visual artifacts. I'll try to describe it. The old picture stays on the screen and gets smeared by the objects in the new image. If there is a new image that completely updates the image the smearing effect disappears. Plus there is a few seconds of A/V desync. This has been reported before, but this patch was said to fix it: http://www.ee.oulu.fi/~tuukkat/mplayer/MPlayer-0.90rc2.varfourcc.patch It does not for me and it seems like Roberto Togni already included it in CVS. If another patch is needed, I would appreciate if someone could post it again, thanks.
