Hmm, what happened to the "synced with" line? Diego

I really lack time to update the manpage in chronological order, therefore I translate only small commits from time to time (like this morning). I keep long commits like manpage reviews, new mpeg demuxer, filters for when I have more time. I'm like 20 commits behind now... that's quite depressing. Is that Ok with you? Regards, Guillaume

Hey, don't feel depressed, it means that MPlayer documentation is improving rapidly :-)
Is that Ok with you?
Hmm, I really don't want to tell you how to do things, especially since I know you will eventually completely update it, but the current situation is not perfect. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the "synced with" string currently suggests that the French man page is up to date, doesn't it? If so then please change that. IMO the translation should always be in a state that another translator can take over or join at any moment without having to check the whole thing to see what has been translated and what has not. I think if you add a small comment at the top that lists the revisions you have translated out of order it should be enough. Diego

That's right. That's on the top of my todo-list, and right after it is the encoding tutorial.
but the current situation is not perfect. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the "synced with" string currently suggests that the French man page is up to date, doesn't it?
No. I says it is synced to 1.877 (from the top of my head). This is obviouly not correct, as it contains other more recent updates, but at least it doesn't state that it is up-to-date.

Given that I really lack time, I must say I'm not gonna do this, since all commits I made do state which "extra" revisions got translated. Should a new translator pop-up, he/she should just need to read the cvs log... but I don't think that's gonna happen before I'm done with the full sync. But other than that, that's a good idea (if one has leisure have time ;-) Regards, Guillaume

OK, keep it as a suggestion for the future. Diego
