Hi all, I would like to contribute to Mplayer and I think the first way for me is to do some works in the translation to the Italian language. There is a mainteiner for the IT language? Very pleased to hear that. You could start checking the TranslationStatus at trac.mplayerhq.hu (where you'll find some additional information as well).

Hi Ingo, I'm ready to start to translate. I see that the homepage is not translated. I can start from there, but I have to understand some rules. I downloaded the homepage via svn. Can you point me to the right way please? Even in private if it's better. Tnx Ambrogio

I'd suggest starting with 1) (help messages), but it's your decision. I'm not an expert for the homepage, but for the homepage it's the 'src' directory, for the help messages it's the 'help' directory. The reference is always the English file (en). Create the Italian one if it doesn't already exist or revise the existing one. Ensure not to change the metadata (HTML code, #define identifier). For the homepage, start with one file and post, for the help messages, post after few changes to see whether you are doing OK. Ingo
Hi Ingo, I used svn checkout svn://svn.mplayerhq.hu/mplayer/trunk to download the svn. I could use the svn checkout svn://svn.mplayerhq.hu/mplayer/trunk/help but it download only the help dir. Now the command TOOLS/mphelp_check.py --missing help/help_mp-en.h help/help_mp-en.h help/help_mp-it.h return the error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "TOOLS/mphelp_check.py", line 67, in <module> base = parse(sys.argv[i]) File "TOOLS/mphelp_check.py", line 23, in parse _, name, value = line.split(None, 2) ValueError: need more than 2 values to unpack I can't understand what it is.
