DVB mailing list dead ?

Hello, is the dvb mailing list dead ? I've had mail problems for a few days, but now it's fixed and I still didn't get mails from the DVB mailing list. I though this was a problem due to my mail problem. But this is really weired now. It seems that I was unsuscribed (when trying to send a "alive ?" message to the list). I suscribed again, but still nothing. DVB include files

Howdy folks! I am trying to get mplayer working with a DVB-T card (input only). I can't seem to get the configure to work correctly for dvb - it always says 'no'. Can someone please let me know what .h & .c files mplayer needs for dvb? That way I can find them myself. Mat Dodgson

Analog TV card to DVB output

Hello, As a DVB user, I am using the famous VDR with the mplayer plugin. I just found out that mplayer (I use 1.0pre3) supports analog TV cards with channel switching. So I decided to give a try to watch analog TV channel (coming on my Pinnacle PCTV BT878 card) on my DVB card (using the video composite out of my Nexus DVB). And it works! With the following command line: mplayer -vo mpegpes -ao mpegpes -afm 9 -tv driver=v4l2:device=/dev/video0:input=0:norm=SECAM:channels=22-TF1,28-FR3:width=720:height=576:fps=25.00:immediatemode=0 -framedrop -input conf=/root/.tuxtv/switch tv:// I can watch analog channels and zap through them. For those who know the analogTV plugin from Andreas Kool, the zapping time is far more faster. For the video quality, it is OK, even though It looks a bit "choppy". The sound is around 300ms late (I didn't succeed in putting a fix delay on the command line). I tried to go down to 352x288, but (even if the CPU is around 25%), I have the same effect. Does any MPlayer expert have any idea of this? Note that recording a show with mencoder gives perfect results; no AV Sync issues and quality is excellent. Thanks! Olivier. Memory leak in mplayer -tv

Hello, As indicated in my previous post, I'm playing with mplayer tv support with DVB output. While doing that, I noticed a big memory leak that leads to errors after 2/3 minutes of watching TV. "video buffer full - dropping frame" The memory goes down from 50Mb available (just after I started mplayer) down to 0 in 2-3 minutes. Here is the command line I use: mplayer -vo mpegpes -ao mpegpes -afm 9 -tv driver=v4l2:device=/dev/video0:input=0:norm=SECAM:channels=22-TF1,28- Canal:width=352:height=288:fps=25.00:immediatemode=0 -framedrop -input conf=/root/.tuxtv/switch tv:// Note that replacing mpegpes by null gives the same effect. Anything I can do to track this down? I tried running valgrind but I didn't succeed. Thanks, Olivier

Hi, I have nova-t budget pci card on a p4 system (w/GeForce4 Ti4600) and I have installed mplayer (apparently without DVB support), and I have been successfully in getting channel list set up and 1) in setting the channel with tzap "yle tv2" (Finland), 2) separately started and I have confirmed capability to see and hear the DVB-T channels with command; dvbstream -ps -o 513 660 | mplayer -cache 1024 -vop halfpack -double - (the dvbstream is v04.pre3, and mplayer is v0.91.3.2.2 Now, the first issue here is that if there is a packet error reported on the xterm , this leads to losing the audio. Any ideas on how to have a bit more robustness in this respect? Also, I have seen references to usage of mplayer dvb:// type url to access the dvb video feed - I tried to configure the mplayer with the include directories for DVB/include, and for DVB/ost/include. The latter seems to be empty when fetching from CVS. Any ideas or comments how to get mplayer (latest version) + dvb-kernel build for 2.4 to work together? Thanks for any pointers! Petri Ps.
