Thank you very much. I don't know if you are aware of this, but if you do a help/help_create.sh help/help_mp-es.h UTF-8 you'll get a help_mp.h which has a section of "untranslated messages from the English master file" at its end. May be of help for your work. Reimar Döffinger wrote on Sat, 14 Apr 2012 00:15:42 +0200:
My Spanish isn't good enough to say anything about the changes themselves unfortunately.
My Spanish isn't even existing, but I'd commit this if nobody objects. Juan, I would apply the attached patch after yours, because the help_text formatting seems cluttered. Ingo

I'd be in favour of the formatting being the same in all translations, I don't think there is usually a good reason to have it differ (at least for languages that do not use any more unusual alphabet).
+" <- o -> Avanza/retrocede 10 segundos\n" +" arriba o abajo Avanza/retrocede 1 minuto\n" +" RePág o AvPág Avanza/retrocede 10 minutos\n"
That doesn't look right to me, I guess it's not intentional that this is not aligned?

So this is pro or con my patch?

Nope. I missed the 2-bytes UTF-8 chararcters on the left side. Will fix it. Ingo

I have no opinion on that really, except that if your patch makes it differ from the English one it would make sense to do the same change to that.

Well, it doesn't. It actually restores spacing according to the English text, which is why your comment is confusing me. (Unless you mean something different with "formatting", then please tell.) Ingo

Why is it confusing? I said "if", meaning that I don't know. You never said you made it match the English version and I was too lazy to check myself. So if you are making them the same, I sure think it is a good idea!

Thanks for the tip. I did it and got the file help_mp.h with the message, however there were no untranslated strings afterwards. Anyway, I am reviewing the whole file, as the translated text contains spelling mistakes, missing accents and untranslated terms. I am using an UTF-8 capable text editor using a fixed spacing font for the task and see everything aligned in my end. Juan
