I believe this FAQ entry is completely outdated. Are there any systems without inttypes.h left?
I don't know what the meaning of the inttypes.h exactly is, but you might be interestet in the following:
./configure Detected operating system: SunOS Detected host architecture: sparc Checking for cc version ...
Checking for inttypes.h (required) ... no Checking for bitypes.h (inttypes.h predecessor) ... Error: Cannot find header either inttypes.h or bitypes.h (see DOCS/HTML/en/faq.html).
Check "configure.log" if you do not understand why it failed.
uname -ar SunOS kojak 5.8 Generic_108528-14 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-5_10
That's Solaris 8, but that machine simply does not have a complete development environment on it, just have a look at /usr/include/ and how almost nothing is in there. Is there any usable Sun machine still left in the computer pool? Diego
