Hi, for three days I've been trying to compile MPlayer-CVS under Debian (sid). I inserted the libavcodec-CVS-directory and tried to compile. Doing the same thing, MPlayer-0.90pre5 compiles fine (with exactly the same libavcodec directory). I do not expect a CVS dir to compile any time, but I really want the .rm decoder. I downloaded this the day it got announced, but with my SuSE system I deleted the source dir. If it just doesn't compile these days, does anyone have source with real support which does? ---- make[1]: Entering directory `/root/install/mplayer-cvs/libmpcodecs' gcc -c -Wall -O4 -march=k6 -mcpu=k6 -pipe -ffast-math -fomit-frame-pointer -D_REENTRANT -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -I. -Inative -I.. -I../libmpdemux -I../loader -I-I/usr/include -I/usr/include/dvdnav -I/usr/include/gtk-1.2 -I/usr/include/glib-1.2 -I/usr/lib/glib/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -o vd_ffmpeg.o vd_ffmpeg.c vd_ffmpeg.c: In function `control': vd_ffmpeg.c:89: structure has no member named `yvu9_support' vd_ffmpeg.c: In function `draw_slice': vd_ffmpeg.c:253: warning: passing arg 2 of `mpcodecs_draw_slice' from incompatible pointer type vd_ffmpeg.c:224: warning: unused variable `skip' vd_ffmpeg.c:222: warning: unused variable `i' vd_ffmpeg.c:222: warning: unused variable `start' vd_ffmpeg.c: At top level: vd_ffmpeg.c:61: warning: `get_buffer' declared `static' but never defined vd_ffmpeg.c:65: warning: `lavc_param_gray' defined but not used make[1]: *** [vd_ffmpeg.o] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/install/mplayer-cvs/libmpcodecs' make: *** [libmpcodecs/libmpcodecs.a] Error 2 ---- Thomas Ritter

worse. I had taken libavcodec from the ffmpeg/ subdir of avifile, which is - as it seems - not up to date in avifile's CVS, as diff showed...

vd_ffmpeg.c:89: structure has no member named `yvu9_support' it was a missing libavcodec version check, update mplayer from cvs and it should work now and/or update libavcodec.
btw. this mail should have gone to mplayer-users list.
