The framepointer shouldn't ever directly effect compilation. Using this option merely means that the framepointer can be overwritten without being saved which results in small performance improvements on x86 by sacrifying debugabilty. At that point I'd like to suggest to drop this options for other architectures because they have enough registers to not get any remarkable improvements by it if any at all. -- Servus, Daniel
