Specs from http://www.matroska.org/technical/specs/ : ContentCompAlgo The compression algorithm used. Algorithms that have been specified so far are: 0 - zlib, 1 - bzlib, 2 - lzo1x, 3 - Header Stripping. ContentCompSettings Settings that might be needed by the decompressor. For Header Stripping (ContentCompAlgo=3), the bytes that were removed from the beggining of each frames of the track. [PATCH] Network synchronized playback using UDP

I hacked in a simple mechanism to synchronize playback between multiple instances of mplayer over a network. The master sends a UDP datagram to announce its position in the video each time it plays a frame. The slaves check to see if they're within epsilon of the master. If they are, they just advance by a frame. If not, they seek to where the master is. This works out nicely because I can dynamically tweak frame rate, seek and pause on the master and the slaves all follow along. The patch is not compliant with your coding standards. Before I do that work, I wanted to make sure it's a patch you're interested in, and see if you have any particular guidance on things I should move or change.

[RFC][PATCH]removing gmplayer

Hi, i think it's time to finally remove gmplayer. It's ugly and unmaintained and apparently no devs even use it. People who ask for help in #mplayer are always just told to use SMPlayer or some other frontend. Also it seems that most its users simply don't know that there are other (much better) options than gmplayer. I'm attaching a patch that removes it, except for the 'svn rm gui/' part, because it'd make the patch too big. Comments? Anton Khirnov

Hi! Attached patch makes all PAFF samples playable (with a small, for some samples even acceptable delay), while I do not know of any sample that does not desync immediately with latest svn. Please comment, Carl Eugen

Cropdetect Aspect Ratio display & True Speed Patches

Attached are two patches: a) crop.diff adds another field to the output of the cropdetect filter containing the true aspect ratio of a video: [CROP] Crop area: X: 0..719 Y: 0..479 R:1.78:1 (-vf crop=720:480:0:0). ^^^^^^^^ [CROP] Crop area: X: 0..719 Y: 73..510 R:2.34:1 (-vf crop=720:432:0:76). ^^^^^^^^ [CROP] Crop area: X: 0..719 Y: 74..501 R:2.39:1 (-vf crop=720:416:0:80). ^^^^^^^^ working for all situations I came across to date. b) speed.diff adds a command line parameter -speed24, which in case of PAL material (25fps) switches to a playback speed of 24fps downpitching the audio also as intended. If no downpitching is necessary (very few PAL DVDs have pitch correction applied) -af scaletempo would be needed though, otherwise the voices would be half a tone too low. -- Cheers, Alex

Hi, The attached implements seeking in multirate RM files, with some code clean up. Now both normal (interleaved) and multirate RM files maintain current_apacket and current_vpacket and use these counters in seeking. Hello mplayer devs, Attached to this email is a patch which i wrote about a year ago that lets you play files in uncompressed, multi-volume rar files, as long as there is only one video file inside the rars (which is often the case). It probably (surely) isn't ready for inclusion in mplayer as-is, has no error reporting, and doesn't work on rar files with compression. However, I've been using it a lot for about a year now without any problems. Do with it what you wish :) I also attached the bash file that i use to play these rar's which shows how to use this patch. H.264 decoder compatibility with MPlayer

Dear MPlayer development team, We are a hardware manufacturer that designs and manufactures embedded and small form factor computers based on the x86 platform. We are looking for software partners to possibly integrate our latest hardware decoding technology with the MPlayer platform for HD video playback. A couple months ago, we released a series of embedded boards/systems based on a Broadcom hardware decoder chip. It is a non GPU based decoder and uses only 2W of power. These platforms are capable of playing full HD (1080p) h.264, WMV9, VC-1, and Blu-ray videos with less than 30% CPU usage. http://www.engadget.com/tag/BIS-6540HD/ http://www.engadget.com/tag/BIS-6550HD/ Attached is the datasheet of the Broadcom chip we are using in this platform. It is used in many notebook computers from HP and Dell. It is much more efficient than many of the current GPU's on HD video playback in terms of power usage and CPU usage. We can also provide the Linux driver, driver source code and Gstreamer plug-in, plug-in source code. [PATCH] Fix teletext font autoscaling

Hi, In attachment is a patch that fixes teletext font autoscaling. Without that patch autoscaling does not work with teletext, because teletext fonts are taken from vo_font, which is loaded by a call to load_font_ft(dxs, dys, &vo_font, font_name, osd_font_scale_factor), while current autoscaling code modifies text_font_scale_factor instead of osd_font_scale_factor.
