Hi, The attached patch makes fontconfig support available also on darwin/mac os x; the problem is that xft/fontconfig is available but there is no fontconfig.pc in /usr/lib/pkgconfig, so xft-config has to be used. It also adds the '--silence-errors' option to the pkg-config invocation, which avoids annoying text when there is no fontconfig.pc.

When playing ftp://toro.imec.msu.ru/users/eugeni/1.mkv with a simple filter (without get_image() and slices support), for example -vf tile=1:1, put_image receives images with mpi->h = 360 and chroma_height = 184. Then, vf_get_image generates an image with chroma_height = 180, and memcpy_pic(..., mpi->chroma_height, ...) leads to memory corruption. The same code is found in vf_expand.c, but I was not able to trigger the bug there. Suggested patch uses mpi->h >> mpi->chroma_y_shift instead of mpi->chroma_height. Is this correct, or the problem lies somewhere else ?

[PATCH]play rmvb file with changing resolution

Hi, This patch is for some rmvb file that change the resolution during the playing, these video usually made by join two rmvb file together, I've reported the bug to the mplayer-users list and uploaded some sample file to mplayer's ftp. Basicly, I add some code to detect the resolution change from the output of the rmvb codec, if either the width or the height of the movie is changed, just reconfig the vo. I modified the vf.c to realloc a mp_image if the height or the width is changed, I did this only to the TEMP type, I don't know the other types should be changed too, since I don't know how to test if there is any regressions. -- Best Regards, LR

[PATCH] - fix for audio and video in dvr-ms asf files

Hi I've been doing some work on the asf demuxer in ffmpeg and apparently there's some interest in making the mplayer demuxer work with dvr-ms files too. So I've attached a patch that fixes most of the audio and video problems that occur when attempting to play dvr-ms in mplayer. The audio fix is a port of the work I did in ffmpeg. The way I've done it here is a little different though... if the dvr-ms guid is discovered in the header then some special case code is executed to initialise the audio. This shouldn't affect regular asf files and has minimal impact on the existing code. The video fix is basically a lift of the work done by others on the ffmpeg asf demuxer. The reason dvr-ms files haven't worked until now is that the mpeg2 video frames need to be parsed out of the data segments. The existing code assumes that when the media object number changes then you've got your frame. This is not the case with dvr-ms files though. FFmpeg has a generic way of handling this kind of parsing and there may well be some equivalent in mplayer. I haven't had time to look though so I've just taken the relevant bits of code from ffmpeg and dropped them into demux_asf.c. I dont know if it's acceptable to do that but I'm sure you'll let me know. If there's a better way to do it please point me in the right direction and I'll have a go at some point. There are still at least the following issues to be resolved that I hope to get to at some point... seeking is broken, the frame height is wrong, the fps and bit rate displayed at the start is wrong and there's no support for subtitles. If you're going to tackle these, please let me know so as we don't duplicate effort. Regards, John

[PATCH] SSA/ASS subtitles support

Hi Here is an attempt to add ASS rendering capability to mplayer. It is designed as a filter and supports a large part of ASS so-called specification. Reads both external subtitles and the ones embedded in matroska. The patch also adds attachment support to matroska demuxer, as it was needed to extract fonts that usually come with subtitles. Usage is -vf ass for mkv subs and -vf ass=<filename> for external. I tried to change as little as possible in the surrounding code, but still had to add some bad looking lines to mplayer.c and mencoder.c to pass current time and subtitle track to the filter. If there is better way to do it, i'd be glad to hear about it :)

[PATCH] UTF-8 osd messages

Hi, the attached patch adds support for OSD messages in UTF-8. Though this probably should only be active when MSG_CHARSET actually is UTF-8. Also, the utf8_get_char function is a bit overkill for this, since it will always encouter valid UTF-8 in this case, but I made it more flexible in the hope in will be used in other place as well in the future. [PATCH] Better ARM support for mplayer/ffmpeg, ported from atty fork

Hi, while playing with some new hardware, I found it's running a forked mplayer -- and it looks like they're following the GPL. The maintainer's page is here: http://atty.jp/?Zaurus/mplayer Unfortunately it's mostly in Japanese, so it's hard to figure out any details. Their code looks quite interesting (at least to those of us w/ ARM CPUs). The patches I've attached are the patches from atty.jp with a couple of modifications by myself: - ported to current CVS - reverted their change of removing SNOW support from ffmpeg - cleaned up their bswap mess - removed DOS-style linebreaks from various files - reverted their moving "audiocodec mad" in front of "audiocodec ffmp3" in codecs.conf The mplayer part contains some hunks that aren't just for arm optimizations (e.g. they put some stuff into demux_audio.c to detect a Xing mp3 header), so this shouldn't be applied blindly.
