[PATCH] Fix runtime adjustment of audio delay
by Uoti Urpala 06 Apr '06

06 Apr '06

When changing audio delay at runtime, the immediate adjustment and the change in av sync target are in opposite directions. This means that the delay immediately changes in one direction, then gradually returns to the original value and finally stabilizes in the opposite direction. I'm not sure which of the contradictory directions is the intended one (the documentation could be clearer about this) but the patch at least makes the code use one direction consistently. Btw the way the default keyboard mappings increase the shown delay value with '-' and decrease it with '+' is a bit weird.

libvo driver for S3 Virge
by Mark Sanderson 05 Apr '06

05 Apr '06

Hi, I have put together a driver for S3 Virge cards based off the tdfxfb driver for 3dfx cards by Mark Zealey. It's a hardware driver that has YUV conversion and scaling, double buffering and direct rendering. The code comes from my custom TV program (modified quite a bit), and before that mostly xfree86. I'm distributing it as is of course, meaning it may only work on my system (s3 virge/gx 4mb, in vesa 1024x768/32bit framebuffer mode). But let me know if it's useful or if I can improve it. Here's the patch against the MPlayer-1.0pre7try2 source. configure -enable-s3fb mplayer -vo s3fb -vf yuy2 Mark.

[PATCH] fix for segmentation fault in libmpdemux/demux_ts.c
by Erik Auerswald 05 Apr '06

05 Apr '06

Hi, when looking for an audio stream in an MPEG TS file an error occurs if a stream of type AUDIO_A52 is found but no audio stream matches the given parameters (e.g. "-alang foo" given on the command line). Since an audio type has been set the demuxer thinks that pid -1 is a valid audio stream which results in a segmentation fault when trying to open it. The attached patch fixes this. This problem occurs e.g. when setting "alang" in the config file to the preferred DVD audio language specifier which does not match the MPEG TS specifier (e.g. "en" vs. "eng"). Regards, Erik

hello, many newbies qustions: 1, mplayer can modify audio/video offset (+/- 100 ms). why 100 ms, we can change it easily? 2, to understand Mplayer's sychronization mechanism, what files is most important for a begin. mplayer.c? 3, I've see a CMplayer (Cluster Player) in Mailing list. Anyboday kown what it become now? there si any release recently? thanks and best regards! ___________________________________________________________________________ Nouveau : téléphonez moins cher avec Yahoo! [PATCH] fix realaudio in mkv
by Roberto Togni 03 Apr '06

03 Apr '06

Hi all, this patch adds audio packet descrambling to mkv demuxer and changes extradata to conform to the new ad_realaudio decoder interface. The same extradata format and packet order is also used by lavc real decoders. There is one problem created by this patch: in the old version the codec filled sh->i_bps (nAvgBytesPerSec) based on the flavor value, while now the codecs don't do it anymore (and that would not be possible anyway with the lavc codecs). In real demuxer i solved the problem by taking i_bps from the MDPR header, is there some field in matroska that can be used to fill that value? Else the only option is to create a table with bitrates like it's done for sipr codec (sipr is the only codec where flavor or bitrate is used to select the codec subtype). Only cook is tested (samples/Matroska/realaudio/nosound.mkv). Mosu, can you comment on this? Ciao, Roberto

.developer cruft
by Rich Felker 03 Apr '06

03 Apr '06

hey, i've been trying to clean up old/broken/etc. cruft in mplayer code an i realized the hated build system where everything gets rebuilt unless you touch .developer is still in place. as much as coreteam liked forcing users to perform such favors on them, i think it's time we remove the need for users to 'touch .developer' in order to have sane build dependencies. does anyone reject to: - removing support for .developer - fixing dependencies so that version.h is handled correctly. - moving the old .libdeps hack i added out of etc and making it part of the default makefile for automatic subdir dependency handling. - removing the dependency on configure that forces rebuild whenever configure has changed (it's wrong anyway since configure needs to be rerun first). ?? rich

[PATCH] asf demuxer fix
by Alban Bedel 02 Apr '06

02 Apr '06

Hi, i looked a bit at the asf demuxer. This whole thing with the asf descrambeling will also fail if several demuxer are opened at the same time. So while at it i fixed that too. Unless someone speakup i'm going to commit this patch in the next hours. Albeu

[PATCH] vd_ffmpeg: crash on changing colorspace and extradata handling
by Reimar Döffinger 02 Apr '06

02 Apr '06

Hi, attached are to patches to vd_ffmpeg. The first one avoids a crash when the colorspace changes during decoding (e.g. mf://*.jpg when the jpgs use different chroma subsampling, like 00.jpg and 04.jpg in incoming). This is done by properly reinitializing the vo in this case, so that the get_buffer function returns large enough buffers. The second patch passes extradata on as default, instead of having this large list of all codecs that need it. This one may be more reason for discussion (and testing) I guess. Greetings, Reimar Döffinger
