[PATCH] vstream client support
by Joey Parrish 27 Feb '05

27 Feb '05

Hello, Attached is a patch to add vstream client support to MPlayer. It creates a new stream module that is only compiled in if the vstream client library is available. This patch will allow MPlayer to stream video directly from a TiVo running the vstream server. (Many hacked TiVos are.) Documentation of the new URL format is included in a few languages. I don't speak all of those languages, but it's easy to copy and paste from similar blocks elsewhere in the docs. The vstream client library is maintained at http://armory.nicewarrior.org/projects/vstream-client/ and is based on the work of the TiVo-MPlayer project. My contribution was to clean up the code and move it into a small library. I'd appreciate your comments. And if there are no objections, I'll commit this very soon. --Joey -- "I can read it better than you can read it with your eyes closed." --Gu

[PATCH] one line patch to add codecs subdir to searchpath
by Gianluigi Tiesi 27 Feb '05

27 Feb '05

I've not tested on linux, but it shouldn't make problems, on windows it permits a cleaner directory struct for mplayer. -- Gianluigi Tiesi <sherpya(a)netfarm.it> EDP Project Leader Netfarm S.r.l. - http://www.netfarm.it/ Free Software: http://oss.netfarm.it/

[PATCH] ao_oss fallback to s16ne 2ch for soundcards with only two channels
by Ivo 26 Feb '05

26 Feb '05

Hi, This patch makes ao_oss fall back to s16ne 2ch if it tries to open the soundcard for more than two channels and the card doesn't support it. Currently this only works for AC3 sound and not for other multi-channel audio files. In that case, it drops to u8 2ch which is undesirable. If nobody complains, I'll apply this weekend. --Ivo

[PATCH] Add float and extended support for WAV files
by Ivo 26 Feb '05

26 Feb '05

Hi, This patch adds support for 32-bit floats in a WAV container (as written by Audacity for example) and support for extended files that contain more than two channels. If nobody complains, I'll apply it this weekend. --Ivo

[PATCH] -slave-idle option
by Oded Shimon 26 Feb '05

26 Feb '05

Makes MPlayer idle loop like gui, waiting for a 'load' command from input. Note that it does NOT imply -slave. A "bug" - using -fixed-vo causes a frozen window inbetween idling. I see no way around this. - ods15

Translators: please add a help_mp-??.h.charset file
by Reimar Döffinger 26 Feb '05

26 Feb '05

Hi, to make the --charset configure option work, please add a help_mp-??.h.charset file for the translations you maintain (and correct the existing ones if I did something wrong), containing the charset the corresponding help_mp-??.h file uses. iconv -l gives a list of the charset names you can use... Greetings, Reimar Döffinger

This at least is true for TheWB where I did most of my original testing. I also found that in one case the logo was the same shape and size as it had been for all of my previous tests but it had moved two pixels up and to the left. In fact, it was that latter case that caused me to add the position parameters in the first place. Still, I suppose this ability could be added back in later. I don't have the time to do it now, sadly. I think it might be a good idea to update the documentation comments and the error message to reflect the new usage, though! All the best, Martin Atkins

You could try premultiplied alpha to make it faster. You inner look looks like this: pic_plane[x] = CLIP((pic_plane[x] - tmpl_plane[x] * alpha) / (1.0 - alpha)); You can calculate tmpl_plane[x] * alpha once after the image is converted to YV12 and just store it instead of the original image. The same with 1-alpha, just store it instead of alpha.
