Any reason for the inconsistency in "autodetect" vs. "auto"? Yes, an excellent one: you wouldn't even dare to imagine ;))
IMHO "autodetected" would be even better. I dunno... It was like that in C1, maybe if you consider '[blah]' as 'default is to <blah> this option/feature/stuff' it's more acceptable.
