Hallo! Since at least about a month CVS mplayer is not able to play DVDs with sound on my system anymore (CVS of last few days doesn't compile through at the moment). It seems that there is a problem in liba52. If I use: mplayer dvd:// mplayer dvd:// -ao oss it crashes with: MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: decode_audio If I use: mplayer dvd:// -ac -a52, it doesn't crash but sounds terrible because it uses: Selected audio codec: [hwac3] afm: hwac3 (AC3 through S/PDIF) Using: strace /usr/src/mplayer/main/mplayer dvd:// yields: write(1, "Starting playback...\n", 21Starting playback... ) = 21 gettimeofday({1147720732, 914018}, {4294967176, 0}) = 0 gettimeofday({1147720732, 915374}, {4294967176, 0}) = 0 --- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) @ 0 (0) --- write(2, "\n\nMPlayer interrupted by signal "..., 59 MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: decode_audio ) = 59 I have a LFS 2.6.16.11 and liba52 installed separately as well (see bottom for full info). Using --disable-liba52 with configure disables it totally so I found no way to test it with my separat library. I hope it is not some dependency problem through my LFS; configure has no complains. I had (or still have when not using --disable-internal-tremor) problems with libvorbis as well. I talked with Diego about that already. Aehh, nein. Tremor ist ein Vorbis-Decoder und viel schneller als libvorbis.
Ist libvorbis nicht im System, so scheint es zu funktionieren, zumindest bei Reimar Döffinger, der sich meinem Problem angenommen hat. Bei mir funzt es nur, wenn ich --disable-internal-tremor angebe, und ich brauch meine libvorbis.
Ohne genauen Bugreport laesst sich da nichts sagen, sieht aber nach einem libvorbis Problem aus. Schalte libvorbis doch einfach ab:
configure --disable-vorbis
(Mein cvs mplayer kann leider keine DVDs mehr abspielen, aber ich denke mal, dass das bekannt ist und nur vorrübergehen der Fall ist. )
