[BUG] regression when playing a DVD after r18429

The following commit introduced a regression when playing DVDs for me: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ r18429 | nicodvb | 2006-05-11 00:03:18 +0200 (Thu, 11 May 2006) | 2 lines Changed paths: M /trunk/libmpcodecs/vd_libmpeg2.c M /trunk/libmpdemux/video.c moved code to set aspect ratio for mpeg12 away from video.c and into decoder files; A/R changes work correctly with -vc mpeg12 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ When the movie starts MPlayer prints VDec: vo config request - 720 x 576 (preferred colorspace: Planar YV12) Trying filter chain: vo VDec: using Planar YV12 as output csp (no 0) Movie-Aspect is 1.78:1 - prescaling to correct movie aspect. VO Config (720x576->1024x576,flags=0,'MPlayer',0x32315659) VO: [xmga] 720x576 => 1024x576 Planar YV12 but more than an hour into the movie it suddenly prints VDec: vo config request - 720 x 576 (preferred colorspace: Planar YV12) Trying filter chain: vo VDec: using Planar YV12 as output csp (no 0) Movie-Aspect is 1.33:1 - prescaling to correct movie aspect. VO Config (720x576->768x576,flags=0,'MPlayer',0x32315659) VO: [xmga] 720x576 => 768x576 Planar YV12 and the aspect ratio changes (and is of course wrong then). It switches back after some time. I would upload a sample if I knew how to create it, the problem occurs about one hour 20 minutes into the DVD. Diego

[BUG] Memory leak in vo_vesa with -fixed-vo

Hi, All I think, i have found memory leak in vo_vesa driver when mplayer is used with -fixed-vo. Reason: multiple call to vbeInit with LRMI_alloc_real inside it (one call per one playtree entry), but correspodding vbeDestroy with LRMI_free_real is called only once (at mplayer exit). Error happens only in fixed-vo mode, because in usual mode mplayer calls vbeDestroy for each playtree entry (and thus each vbeInit correspods to one vbeDestroy). Error is obvious after applying attached patch to vbe.c from vesautils. With memory leak i can play in fixed-vo mode only 103 or 126 etries from playlist (depending on used hardware). After playing last entry from above region mplayer shows "Out of DOS memory" error for each subsequent entries until playlist ends. If "-playlist" used together with "-loop 0" only "kill -9" helps me to restart mplayer (this is different issue, imho), "quit" slave through input fifo does not work. mplayer aborts with -nosound

I'm seeing mplayer/mencoder abort early when seeking to point a little over halfway through large VOB files (ripped from a DVD by mplayer -dumpstream). For mencoder, the following command works as expected: mencoder -ss 4000 -o /dev/null /path/to/foobar.vob -ovc copy -oac copy However, the following command aborts immediately: mencoder -ss 4000 -o /dev/null /path/to/foobar.vob -ovc copy -nosound For this particular VOB, picking a value for -ss of 3306 or less works even with -nosound, but 3307 or higher results in a segmentation fault. For mplayer, the following command works: mplayer -ss 4000 /path/to/foobar.vob As does this: mplayer -ss 4000 /path/to/foobar.vob -oa null However, the following command immediately exits with "(End of file)": mplayer -ss 4000 /path/to/foobar.vob -nosound Again, a value of -ss 3306 behaves as expected, but mplayer exits prematurely with a value of 3307 or higher. I've attached logs of mplayer running in verbose mode with '-nosound' and, for comparison, with '-oa null -endpos 5'. I believe the most notable output is: stream_seek: WARNING! Can't seek to 0x1241C4600 ! MPEG Stream reached EOF ds_fill_buffer: EOF reached (stream: video) Is this a known problem? Anything I can do to help fix it? I am an experienced programmer, so asking me to run in a debugger with breakpoints, report variables and stack traces, etc. is fine. I just don't know enough about the source to handle this myself. My installed version of mplayer identifies itself as "MPlayer 1.0rc2-4.1.2 (C) 2000-2007 MPlayer Team". However, I pulled mplayer from svn just a few minutes ago, and it also has the same problem. The version of mplayer from svn identifies itself as: MPlayer dev-SVN-r25959-4.1.2 (C) 2000-2008 MPlayer Team CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6420 @ 2.13GHz (Family: 6, Model: 15, Stepping: 6) CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 1 SSE2: 1 Compiled for x86 CPU with extensions: MMX MMX2 SSE SSE2 My system is an x86_64 box running Kubuntu 07.04 (Feisty Fawn). My kernel is 2.6.20-16-generic. My libc is libc-2.5.so from package libc6. gcc is "version 4.1.2 (Ubuntu 4.1.2-0ubuntu4)". ld is "version 2.17.50 20070103 Ubuntu". binutils, as reported by as, is "2.17.50 20070103 Ubuntu". mov demuxer A/V sync probs

Moin, I just uploaded a file to mphq that shows heavy A/V desync problems with MPlayers mov demuxer. Ie jumpy sound, small loops and desyncs that go up to two secs. The file works fine with -demuxer lavf [Order]_Tengen_Toppa_Gurren_Lagann_-_01_[83DAF271].mp4: --- MPlayers mov demuxer produces A/V desyncs, short loops and choppy sound.
