I found that when looking at a subtitled video using mplayer and merging a mpsub file, the subtitles are rendered using the fixed size font configured with make user-config (14pt). However when I use mencoder to produce a avi file with subtitles included in the picture, it uses the freetype generated font. I want the encoded video to look the same as the preview, since I use the preview to tune the output right. Repeatedly encoding and watching would very much prolonge the time taken for subtitling. Also I find the wide linespacing ugly, it makes the subtitle text go too far into the picture. I got the font size to be the same with the -subfont-autoscale 0 -subfont-text-scale 14 parameters. However the line spacing in multiline subtitles is much larger than in the preview. The difference would probably go away if I compiled without freetype again, however, I'd like to keep freetype since if gives me more flexibility in the future. I read the manual but didn't find any statement on line spacing and whether it can be influenced. If no solution is already available, pointers where to fiddle with the source are also welcome, knowing which file and function to look at would certainly help me get started. PSS - Playstation 2 movie file

Hello, I recently learned that the Playstation 2 game movies are stored in MPEG2 format. So, well, I tried to play some using mplayer. And it actually works for the video, but not for the audio: [...] system stream synced at 0xD (0)! ==> Found video stream: 0 MPEG-PS file format detected. Unknown 0x1BD substream: 0xFF [skipped a lot of them] MPEG Stream reached EOF ds_fill_buffer: EOF reached (stream: audio) MPEG: No audio stream found -> no sound. [...] I put a stream sample there, if you want to take a look at it: http://dem.nobis-crew.org/l5logo.pss When I tried to look around the file a bit, it seems that it has been encoded using TPMGEnc. And when I looked the streams in it, there is one substream that in fact contains the audio, in raw 16 bits stereo waveform format, with a small header. So I think it should be easy to fully support it with mplayer, but I'm not skilled enough to do it myself. If you want more samples like this one, just ask, I've got plenty of them. It looks like I can use the vf_decimate filter to eliminate the duplicate frames, but I am not quite sure of what to use for the the values of max:hi:lo:frac. max=1 seems like a sane value, but what to use for hi, lo, and frac considering this was captured from analog cable (probably fairly noisy, although visually it looks quite acceptable). Any ideas? [BUG] main-cvs segfaults with video filters 'sab' and 'smartblur' - not 090-cvs

Hi, With main CVS, the sab and smartblur filters do not seem to work any longer. They still work with 090-cvs. Mplayer bails out with the following messages:" internal error in orderYUV internal error in orderYUV Segmentation fault (core dumped) " FWIW, the errors seem to occur in the sws_scale() call.
