Hi, I have serious problems with dga. Every file i tryed returns a X11 error: BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter) It changes videomode but fails before i see a pic. forcing to use avcodec fails (either with with same errormsg or it switches to dshow) -novm and -nodr doesnt help either Using current cvs, codecs.conf is updated. Bug in libmpeg2?

When playing certain DVD's the image is all jumpy, like on a movie-theater when the film is out-of-sync. Most DVD's play perfectly and i can even use mencoder to produce DivX. But when I use mencoder on the "jumpy" DVD's its just refuses to produce any valid video-output all I get is audio and alot of "skip frame!!!" warnings from mencoder. The same DVD plays allright in ogle, which makes me think that the mpeg2-decoder in mplayer is to blame. I have made extensive searches and reading on the mplayer mailinglists, I have found some "similar" problems but no solutions. Problems with "-ss" and "-delay" command line options

Hello developers, the problems described in this bug report can be verified with the file called "seeking_and_delay_bugs_sample_file.mpg" in ftp://mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/incoming/ although I believe that all this can be reproduced with any other avi and mpg file. Summary: using the "-ss" and "-delay" switches together can have unexpected results, "-delay" has some problems with "insane" values. 1) Try the following > mplayer -vo xv seeking_and_delay_bugs_sample_file.mpg -delay -5.0 "mplayer" won't start for a long time (it has some sort of hickup: play one frame, play some sound, then pause) with such a high delay value. This is more like a cosmetical problem, although it is annoying. 2) > mplayer -vo xv seeking_and_delay_bugs_sample_file.mpg -delay +5.0 works as expected if used right from the beginning. But if you use it together with "-ss 85" for example: > mplayer -vo xv seeking_and_delay_bugs_sample_file.mpg > -delay +5.0 -ss 85 "mplayer" tries to prebuffer 5 seconds here it think, but when the video starts a/v sync isn't off by 5 seconds at all. So "-ss" and "-delay" work some kind of against each other. And this one: > mplayer -vo xv seeking_and_delay_bugs_sample_file.mpg > -delay -5.0 -ss 85 does not work, either. But I am the kind of person to search for my own solution so I tried to fix it. I don't know it was the best thing to do, but I decided to add this in demux_ogg.c after the line ''#ifndef HAVE_OGGVORBIS'': void demux_ogg_seek(demuxer_t *demuxer,float rel_seek_secs,int flags) { } A comment states, "/// Some dummy function to use when no Ogg and Vorbis lib are avaible", So I thought this was appropriate there for the missing definition. Compiling after this addition was successful, so I am able to run MPlayer again. =) I am running the latest linux from scratch with the latest patched kernel. [BUG] vobsub subtitles "hang"; vobsub alpha channel issue

Hello everybody, first of all please forgive me for using this list but for some reason my postings are not showing up on mplayer-users... no idea what's wrong there. Anyway, there are two issues with vobsub I'd like to report (MPlayer-20020406): - I have a .sub/.idx file that causes the rendering engine to screw up alpha channel management. The letters of the subtitles have small "holes" where the underlying movie is showing through. I could temporarily (just to watch a movie) remedy this by adding this to spudec.c alpha[0] = 1; alpha[1] = 1; alpha[2] = 1; alpha[3] = 0; right after the loop that calls mkalpha() 4 times but obviously this is not a proper fix. I'll upload the sub/idx pair to your FTP site so you can check whether this is reproducible for you. - In this release subtitles don't seem to disappear until the next subtitle is displayed. This can cause subtitles to "hang" there for a long time until there is some dialog in the movie again. MPlayer-20020329 did not have this problem! Thanks, Joerg

Facts: Latest CVS. Pentium II 350 FreeBSD 4.5-CURRENT Description: The video output gets cut, being able to see only the center-left part of it. Nick send me a patch for it time ago, correcting the problem. It was a "return 1<<16;" line for the mach64_get_vert_strech() function. Now I see along the code that a test for vertical streching has been put in place, and mplayer with "-v" shows that my configuration does not support such streching, so "1<<16" should be returned, but it does not work properly. Any ideas?
