Hi, I have an avi video with 5000 frames. The original frame rate is 15 frames/per second, and it takes 300 seconds to play the whole video. I want the video to play faster so that it takes less time to complete, so I change the frame rate using the following command: mencoder in.avi -o out.avi -ofps 100 -ovc copy However, out.avi still take around 300 seconds to complete, even though out.avi does have fps of 100fps according to the info displayed by mplayer. What command options should I use if I want the output video to be complete in 50 sec? Thanks. Shiyuan

MEncoder broken with AC3 audio

Hi, MEncoder is currently broken with AC3 audio (-oac lavc -lavcopts acodec=ac3). All it produces is a hissing sound. Also copying AC3 audio (-oac copy) results in many duplicate frames I know MEncoder is kept for historical reasons and no work is done on it, but please I still use it and will be happy if a kind soul could fix this issue Thanks

Video + Audio out of sync

I am converting videos downloaded via SAT recorder into a DVD-compatible format (mpg). On one of my viodeos, I find video + audio to gradually get out of sync by >60 sec within minutes. The original plays well with mplayer, but any result of mencoder (even when copying the streams) show the symptom described. midentify does not show any difference to other videos that work fine. How can I track further / resolve the problem ? Malte

MJPEG and LJPEG video bitrate

When encoding using the libavcodec option for Motion JPEG or Lossless JPEG as such: -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mjpeg:mbd=1:vbitrate=1800 or -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=ljpeg:mbd=1:vbitrate=1800 It takes no notice of the video bitrate and seems to have a set value. MJPEG defaults to approximately 9,000 kbps, whereas LJPEG can be up around 70,000 kbps Is there a way to change the bitrate please?

I've seen reports of this error before but they're some years old and marked as "resolved".
