quicktime compatible mp4 using x264encopts?

Has anybody successfully generated an .mp4 with H264 video and AAC audio that will play in Quicktime using mencoder + libx264? I can't get it to work. The resulting files just cause the player to either crash or complain about invalid data. bmovl

Ok, so far so good everything I need to do is working out. so I only have one more thing I want to do to my video clip and that is to use an overlay to mask off certain edges. I've been reading about bmovl but I'm having a really hard time understanding how I'm supposed to use it. I have a black and white bitmap image that I created and want to use as the mask. Is there anyone that can give me an example of the code to overlay that onto the video and mask off the left and right edges of the frame? chris PS. how to mirror left to right

I have an mpeg2 file that I need to mirror left to right. the only thing I can find in the help file is info on how to flip it but that flips it vertically, I need to mirror left to right. anyone know how to do this? problem with -ss

Hello, I am trying to encode an flv file to mpeg2 so I can transfer it to DVD. File not found error?

When I run the line below from the command line, the first thing it says is "FILE NOT FOUND", but then it continues to strip the audio out of the video file perfectly (the output MP3 file works fine). I'm not sure what "file" it can't find is, but it doesn't seem to need the file anyway. Just thought I'd advise you of this possible problem. mencoder MyVideoFile.avi -of rawaudio -oac mp3lame -ovc copy -o MyAudioFile.mp3 -lameopts cbr:br=16:mode=3 -srate 16000 And on a seperate note, even though the output is audio only, it still requires me to use the '-ovc' option. If the purpose of the '-of rawaudio' option is to extract audio only, then there should be no need for the '-ovc' option. Help with Floating Point Exception Error

Anything I try with tv:// gives me a Floating Exception Error, but /dev/video0 works just fine, it just doesn't tune to the channel. How to encode and record audio from MIC at the same time ?

Hi, I intend to make a little clip for fun, where I have an edited, muted video and I plan to make sounds by myself to MIC at the same time when encoding it. So the scenario is that I have an input video file, and I would like to state the audio input is from hw#0,0. (the MIC of my sound card), any idea how to do it ? Cheers, Willie

Is there a way to record television with full sound without it coming through the speakers? I want to record from the television with full sound but I don't want it playing through the speakers while I'm recording. I want to be able to play the file, (with mplayer) that is being recorded (by mencoder) at the same time I am recording it. OK? :) Thanks -- LINUX is simple. It just takes a genius to understand its simplicity.
