How to define DivX version

Hi, I need to identify version of DivX codec in mencoder. I have some problem with mu DVD player and I found that this problem can be solved with coding movies with DivX 5.1.1 version or else but < 5.2 version, so how I can define wich version of mencoder codecs corresponds to DivX 5.1.1 version? I look on mplayerhq.hu page but there is only DivX5 - no other information about versions. Thanks.

Where is my video ?

Hello, I have a trancontinent TR100 hardware player powered by MT1389 chip. Since 1.0pre7, divx encoded by mplayer doesn't work. I have sound only, but no video. I use "-ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4" to encode. An interesting clue is when i mplay in verbose mode the same divx encoded with 1.0pre6 and 1.0pre7, I get some differences : $ mplayer -v exemple_encoded_with_1.0pre6.avi ... ====== STREAM Header ===== Type: vids FCC: DIVX (58564944) ... ======= VIDEO Format ====== biCompression 1482049860='DIVX' ... I see there is a atag option, but no vtag ... Why this change in 1.0pre7 ? it's an important compatibility issue ! Is there a workaround by modifying the codecs.conf file ? Thank you

Relation between psnr_*.log and PSNR:

Can someone enlight me on the psnr values printed on stdout and the ones contained in the psnr_*.log file? After running mencoder I have for example the following values printed: PSNR: Y:30.47, Cb:32.88, Cr:35.56, All:31.36 Instead averaging the corresponding columns from the psnr_*.log file gives: 31.21 33.41 36.10 32.06 I use the PSNR all value just to see the effect of the various parameters on encoding so the absolute value is not important, but the relative change yes. So I'm wondering if the difference is due only to rounding errors or I'm doing something stupid. Thanks for your help! mario -- Ing. playback too fast

Hi! I have got a movie that identifies as a 25fps movie, but when I use mplayer to show it, it is too fast. I get the correct speed when I use: mplayer -fps 12.5 movie.avi I have tried to reencode the movie using this command: mencoder movie.avi -ovc copy -oac copy -fps 25 -ofps 12.5 -noskip But then the result is too slow.
