[rtmpdump] Stack smashing detected with rtmpdump v2.4 on Ubuntu 12.10

I had rtmpdump compiled from git tag v2.4 working fine on Ubuntu 12.04 
32-bit. The same revision compiled on 12.10 gives me "Stack smashing 
detected".

Anybody else come across this problem?
