[rtmpdump] /etc/hosts ignored by rtmp dump

It seems that rtmpdump v1.9 ignores my /etc/hosts file.  When I use ping
(for example) my hostnames are correctly resolved.

 

Any ideas on why this should happen, and how to fix it?
