Because Fedora is broken and does nonstandard stuff that prevents the
mplayer codec-loaders from working.

BS! - I'm runing fedora core on 4 desktop machines and mplayerplug-in
+ quicktime runs fine.<br>

You just need to make sure you have all the pieces - <br>
<br>
In additon to mplayerplug-in, you need mplayer and the w32codecs
package.<br>
