This is fast enough for my needs. First I used an s3 virge in the 350mhz pc downstairs and the nvidia card upstairs was unused, the playback of movies was perfect in mplayer no problem at all. Today I've got an 19 inch screen, with a high resolutionn and refresh rate, the s3 4mb card can't do that stuff, so I got the 32mb tnt2 card out and put it in the pc downstairs. The s3virge card is now in the 1.4ghz upstairs. Everything works perfectly, I am using kde 3.1 perfectly downstairs, the only downside so far is that mplayer is broken. (Xine works perfectly with the video cards swapped) (but I like mplayer more) I tried to use the binary drivers from nvidia.com and I also tried the XV driver which came with XFree86 itself. Both give the same errors. I sure hope you are able to solve this problem... Kind regards, Digger3
