Hello, first of all congratulations to your outstanding work! The Mplayer/mencoder are very good programs! I have the same problem with the gui. On Gnome 1.4 it doesn't work (see bugreport below), but in kde3 it works without prblems.That's since 0.90pre5 (or since a version between pre4 and pre5?). In Gnome, Mplayer just crashes, when starting in gui mode (mplayer -gui or gmplayer). In normal mode everything works fine. I tried different Skins and Fonts already. (y or n) I found something very interesting out: When having started X and Gnome, I switch to a text console (for example tty2) and type in: export DISPLAY=":0" mplayer -gui I switch to my X-console and everything works fine!!
