Dear fellow mplayer users,
I have successfully compiled mplayer on a raspberry pi 4 computer, I had to add some libraries/devel to get working video. There is no sound through hdmi and the fonts do not show up.

I want to play a video I can play it but no sound and no fonts please advise.
Dear fellow mplayer users,
I have fixed the issues. I ran$ sudo apt install libasound2-devand recompiled mplayer which now shows alsa as enabled .and I also copied a file from /usr/share/fonts/ to ~/.mplayer/ directory and voila it works!pi at raspberrypi:~/.mplayer $ cp /usr/share/fonts/truetype/liberation/LiberationSans-Regular.ttf subfont.ttf
I am new to raspberry pi usage. I am used to not having to do little things. I have run slackware, fedora, and freebsd and everything just worked beautifully. Thanks for continuing work on mplayer!
I was going to ask if I could compile mplayer on android from using termux, but mpv is available and have not had a chance to ask, but I do miss using it. Not all things are the same.
Best Regards,
Antonio
